In Jamaica, it’s National Youth Month and to mark the occasion Digital Jamaica in Association with DIA Labs and the Institute of Law and Economics will be hosting our first annual Youth Summit.

This year’s theme “The Future of Work: How Digitization Affects Employment”, is an effort to ignite a much-needed conversation around how we are (or not) preparing our young people for a borderless hyper-digital future.

The Summit takes place over two days from Thursday, November 18th to Friday, November 19th, 2021 and will feature a series of engaging panel discussions, intimate fireside style chats and information packed workshops bringing high school and university students, parents/guardians, and educators together with subject matter experts.

The Summit is a part of the Digital Awareness Readiness and Engagement (D.A.R.E) Initiative. Digital Jamaica will be partnering with private and public sector organizations as well as individuals and other interest-based partners to develop sustainable and rewarding internship, mentorship, and training programmes for young Jamaicans.

The Initiative seeks to impact high schoolers, university students, recent graduates as well as youths in rural communities, young mothers, young people in care and or correctional facilities, and young people with disabilities.

The Future of Work Virtual Youth Summit is an official Youth Month activity under the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Information and is in partnership with The Jamaica Union of Tertiary Students and the National Youth Council.

This free 2-day immersive event is made possible thanks to our sponsors Hugo Jamaica, and UCA Caribbean.
