SiliconCaribe’s Founder Ingrid Riley named Caribbean Future Proofer in UK’s adland publication Pitch Cool which launched its new issue on October 14 Ingrid is among 20 brand founders selected and showcased by founder, editor, and creative director of The Pitch Fanzine, Sherry Collins to feature in Pitch Cool 2020.
Dubbed Caribbean Tech Queen, Ingrid is one of three Jamaican founders featured in Pitch Cool. Jamaica’s first nail varnish brand founder and manufacturer, Annabel Glaze, with her brand Bella’s Beautique, Also featured is Jamaican Activist, Lawyer, and Artist, Joan ‘Nanook’ Webley
This special issue, Pitch Cool, “celebrates Black and people of colour brand founders, who are not only future proofers but are also championing their culture and community.” says Sherry
Featured brands have been selected from across the diaspora, including Jamaica, US, Nigeria, Ghana and the UK, and includes founder of the Black British Museum Project, Sandra Shakespeare, Peace of No Mind podcast founder Raymond Tannor, Elizabeth Uwaifo, founder of West African cooking sauces range Chilli Chop Co, Annika Allen, co-founder of the Black Magic Awards and Nigerian selfie-artist and natural hair champion, Tobi Asah, founder of The Confident Naturalista.
Founders and their brands will be promoted over three months on The Pitch Fanzine platform, with some premiering their Pitch TV pilot shows, filmed in their homes and creative spaces, from Wednesday, October 21st, as part of a new weekly curated content offering.
Brand founders are also taking part in the first Pitch Cool Mentorship Programme, where they will be advised over six months in 2021 by some of UK adland’s finest across strategy and branding to help super-charge their brands for the future.
