TECH NEWS – After nearly five months of lobbying governments across Caribbean, British telecom giant Cable and Wireless Communications (CWC) has finally announced that it has completed a US$1.85 billion acquisition of Columbus International, one of the biggest and fastest growing telecom capacity vendors in the western hemisphere.
The announcement comes just days after Barbados, the Caribbean country where Columbus International is registered, gave its conditional approval for the merger.
CWC has vowed to invest $1.5 billion to bolster its operations across the region in an apparent bid to convince other countries to swiftly approve the merger. More
