The communities of Petite Savanne, Campbell and Castle-Bruce will soon have more public access to Information Technology. This was made possible by a donation of 10 computers from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Area Manager of the ITU, Cleveland Thomas, presented the computers to the Minister for Information, Ambrose George on Tuesday; the first day of a two-day national ICT Policy workshop held at the Fort Young Hotel.
The ITU Area Manager said it is a small contribution to the widespread use of ICT on the island.
“We also see [this gift] providing access to the wider world through the internet and for services and information available on the internet such as education, health care and tourism. It will also support students and teachers in their research projects and after hours of study that they have. Last, but not least, we see it as an opportunity that will stimulate social community interaction,” he said. MORE
