The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Republic of Korea signed a cooperation agreement on 6 November to assist developing countries in the Caribbean to establish national spectrum management master plans.
This is the first ITU Project in the Americas Region which is funded by the Republic of Korea. Similar projects are being undertaken in Africa and in the Asia Pacific Region.
On the same day, the Republic of Korea signed the extension of an existing agreement, put in place in December 2013, to assist developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region design and implement a new spectrum management framework.
The two agreements were signed in Busan, South Korea, during the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference. MORE
