As part of its Women Innovators Network in the Caribbean (WINC), infoDev launched today the Innovative Women Entrepreneurs Competition. The two winners will be invited to participate in infoDev’s 5th Global Forum on Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship in East London, South Africa on May 28-30, 2013.
WINC is targeting support and services for growth-oriented, innovative women entrepreneurs and business owners in CARICOM countries. Its objectives are:
To assist existing Caribbean women-led businesses which have the capacity to grow substantially via the adoption of innovative practices and products;
To provide sector-specific support and advice to women entrepreneurs developing technology-oriented innovative businesses;
To strengthen networks of innovative women entrepreneurs who can support each other, share knowledge and ideas, and inspire others by showcasing their success stories. These will connect with other women entrepreneurs around the world via infoDev’s Global Incubator Network;
To grow the pipeline of successful growth-oriented, innovative women entrepreneurs by providing a package of assistance to those with entrepreneurial aptitude and ambition.
