As the Bermuda Tourism Board embarks on creating a National Tourism Plan they’ve set up a blog online to gather feedback from industry players at all levels. The initiative has been lauded by Caribbean media as a “welcome initiative because it will make the process of building tourism more transparent and collaborative through the use of new technology. ”
The Board is seeking feedback on these top 3 questions
1. What are the most important tourism issues?
2. What do you think are the strengths of Bermuda as a destination?
3. What are your three best wishes for the Bermudian tourist industry?
Now, while the intention of transparency and collaboration is clear and laudable, it lacks proper execution that will hamper gathering feedback and true interaction. One of the clear mistakes, is that the wordpress blog is not properly set up with clear categories that people can identify, add comments to as well as follow the discussions and sharing of ideas.
