Telecoms giant LIME last night launched Jamaica’s and the Caribbean’s first ever mobile TV service, declaring it “a mobile revolution” and offering premier television channels free for the introductory period starting next Monday.
“LIME customers in the Greater Kingston area and St Catherine, including Portmore, will be the first to be able to access the service in LIME’s phased roll-out,” the company said in a news release yesterday.
Freemium Model
The Free now to early adopters now, with premium pay per view offerings in a few weeks is how LIME has decided to roll our. Among the list of channels available to now are CNN, ESPN, Sportsmax, NBC, Hype TV and even the Cartoon Channel for kids.
How to Get it
The Nokia brand LIME TV handsets will go on sale in LIME stores on Monday,December 13th and starts at $8,000jmd plus tax with the most basic offering being a seven-day prepaid package costing J$250 for which a customer will get an excellent deal of 200 minutes talk time, plus the bonus of all the channels on LIME Mobile TV for free during the introductory period.
