“We seriously want you to be able to learn anywhere,” Jonathan Francois, the Trinidadian co-founder of CaribbeanTutors.com told SiliconCaribe.com when explaining the launched of the version 2.0 of his site. He made it clear, that “it’s less about a new site design and more about a shift in service, that removes all limitations we had previously.”
Caribbean Tutors, has positioned themselves as a one stop repository for all Caribbean based exams from GSAT to Common Entrance to CSEC to CAPE all available free, the only thing you pay for is tutoring. Students can share notes, videos and more plus assist each other in the Open Learning Community, “it’s like Facebook specialized for learning simulated exams, a ‘Yahoo Answers’-like system for assistance in any subject area he explained further.”
Francois gave an example of how the CaribbeanTutors.com works for a Caribbean Student. Take for example, that “John is doing math, and he has problems with Simultaneous Equations. He can (a) go to a conventional lessons class and wait months for the teacher to reach that topic or (b) Schedule a session with a Caribbean Tutor and request help for that one topic right away! The company will also be launching a mobile app to compliment it’s website.
CaribbeanTutors.com is the newest startup in this online learning category in the Caribbean and has evolved and is poised for growth, while others have launched and hit the deadpool.
