Turks and Caicos Islands recently launched a 911 website, 911tci.com that enable members of the public to submit information relevant to an emergency response, including medical conditions of residents such as any known heart problems or asthma, which may require an ambulance response, as well as physical conditions of an emergency; for example, a gas oven in the case of a fire.
The site is seen as a preemptive measure that’s geared “will ensure that should they require an emergency response – if persons are breaking in while they are home, if a fire starts and they are trapped, if a member of the family suffers from a heart attack or other emergency medical issue – they can call 911, say their address and shave precious seconds and minutes from the response time,” the Juliette Gooding, Manager of 911 Emergency Response said.
