Thanks to NBC, I discovered Sportstrick.com. I ranted about NBC not carrying live action certain track and field races and blocking videos of them on Youtube. If you were a member of the Caribbean Diaspora living in the US you would have been particularly pissed about this. We did not see Usain Bolt record breaking performance live and a couple others.
I have gave 5 reasons why mainstream media like NBC must never again be given exclusive rights to cover major events like The Olympic Games and how I used Seth Godin’s book to prove it. But it’s all good. Thanks to NBC’s short sightedness and pre-digital era values – I discovered Sportstrick.com which describes itself as the first Video uploading News and Blogging website that dedicates its entire content to Sports.
I got a sweet link to sportstrick.com from a friend of a friend in Facebook that showed me crystal clear, brilliant sound, full video clips of the races and reactions of Usain Bolt whooped the American athletes ass and score a Gold medal and World Record for the 100m. They also showed me the total wipeout of American athletes again by the three Jamaican women in their 100m race. And clearly I told my friends in Facebook and my friends in the US and the Caribbean about it. Thanks sportstrick.com for not making me wait 24-48 hours to see this action.
That site saved me from busting a blood vessel when NBC didn’t carry many of the track and field action live for us Caribbean-Americans living in the United States, those same Caribbean Americans with over US$40 billion dollars in spending power and those 40 million people of Caribbean descent living globally. Aiy sah!
