TheFunded.com “is an online community of entrepreneurs to research, rate, and review funding sources worldwide. In addition, TheFunded.com allows entrepreneurs to view and share term sheets, to assist one other finding good investors, and to discuss the many facets of operating a business.” That’s their pitch.
I am happy to see such a site online as funding -how to, where to, why to, is always on the minds of entrepreneurs and others who want to be. In Jamaica and the Caribbean it’s always easy to get roped into a bitchin’ session on the lack of any kind of venture funds here. So I am recommending the site to Caribbean entrepreneurs, because while the Caribbean as a region is woefully lacking in funding sources, it’s bursting with entrepreneurial activity. And while there maybe none of what you want at home, sometimes you have to throw your line and fish in a different pond.
One of the sweetest things about the site is the networking and sharing of information between entrepreneurs which is always crucial and welcomed. It’s hard enough to start and maintain a business, but when isolation whether in mind or body sets in, it’s always good to touch bases with a fellow mad man or woman who’s chosen this journey too.
In addition to checking out thefunded.com, I think those with the incurable entrepreneurial itch, can click on over and read these articles by venture capitalist and entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki. I like reading his articles, they are largely helpful.
